After they all changed, they met once again in the living area of the suite.
Ella and Gia were at the windows looking at the view when Gia bumped her shoulder against Ellaâs. âDo you think weâll get to two-step?â
Ella chuckled. âYou want to two-step with me?â
âYes, we havenât danced in your living room lately, but we can do it.â
âI donât care if anyone is watching. I want to slow dance with you because tonight I donât have to hold back my feelings,â Ella said, glancing sideways at her.
âYou were holding your feelings back?â
âYou couldnât feel it?â
âI felt it, butâ¦â
âBut I kept pushing you back into the friend zone. Iâm sorry, Gia. That wasââ
âStop,â Gia interrupted her. âThis weekend is different.â She squeezed Ellaâs hand. âWeâre all about good times, right?â
Ella smiled. âI always have a good time with you.â
âLook at us,â Dru said, joining everyone in the living room.
Ella and Gia turned to find that the rest of the group had joined them.
âLetâs get a picture,â Dru said, taking out her phone.
They gathered around Dru and she snapped several pictures.
âThereâs a four-star restaurant and a club downstairs. We donât even have to leave the hotel,â Marina said as she led them out of the suite and to the elevator.
Dinner was full of laughter. They shared a couple of bottles of wine and the food was exceptional.
âYouâve got to taste this,â Gia said, holding a bite of cheesecake in front of Ella until she opened her mouth.
âMmm, that is good,â Ella murmured. She realized Gia had used her own fork and looked around to see if the others noticed. When they didnât, she smiled and reached for her glass. As she took a sip of wine she looked up to see Victoria smiling at her.
âYou know, we hear from our partners how wonderful we are all the time, â Victoria said. âBut I want to point out how impressive our younger generation is. Gia, congrats again on your successful opening last night. And Ella, we are lucky you chose to join us. Youâve proven your worth every day.â
âTo Gia and Ella,â Shelby said, raising her glass.
Ella and Gia looked at each other and clinked their glasses with the others.
âThanks, I think.â Ella tilted her head. âAre you going to ask us to take care of you tonight?â
Victoria laughed. âNo! Canât we be proud of you? Both of you.â She smiled at Gia.
âThank you, Victoria. You can tell me that every day.â Gia chuckled.
The others laughed.
âI think we should toast Dru,â Ella said.
âMe?â Dru said, surprised.
âYes. In a way you brought us all together. You lived in the little house so I met you, then Shelby hired you. Marina happens to be Shelbyâs best friend and thatâs how you two met.â
âAnd best of all, sheâs Giaâs aunt, so thatâs how she joined us,â Victoria said, raising her eyebrows at Ella.
âMaybe itâs you we should be toasting, Victoria. You came back and brought us all together with Make It Easy Designs,â Ella said.
Victoria smiled.
